Nothing really planned this year. I'm taking 2 weeks off at the start of June and am heading to Amsterdam for 3 days in that time but that's about it. A small baby gets in the way of doing anything major.

I usually try do a 3 week holiday in some far flung country but this year I've decided to scatter out a few smaller holidays.

Glastonbury which will be the best part of a week
Then doing a week in Tenerife.
Then 12 days in Tuscany/Cinque Terre

Tenerife is the worst place I've ever been.

I wouldnt do another beach holiday. They are so boring and the amount of alcohol that gets taken is dangerous. Plus you always end up bumping into someone you know from home.

Aye well theyre holidays for women really arent they. Ye can lay around sunbathing and reading Mills & Boon while the men kick a football to each other bored out of their minds.

Those holidays aren't relaxing though. Its all go, tacky clubs, drunk fuckwits, shit restaurants and terrible bars designed for English louts. If I want to go and relax I'd prefer somewhere a bit quieter with some good food and nice spots to have a few drinks.

it's only all go if that's what you want. you're hardly being forced into pubs and clubs (even though they do try to drag you)

exactly, you can steer clear of all that if you want.

it doesn't bother me seeing people having a good time anyway as long as they're not trying to box me.

i went to tenerife in february/march and i was half dreading it after being there about 10 years ago, but it was lovely! pensioner central truth be told. i think it was the time of year, but it was really nice and laid back.

going to london and france for the summer breaks. and EP.

writing off an entire island is pretty ridiculous tbh, no different than saying to maradara that samuii is simply beer bars, prossies and bad english food

i'm heading over with free access to a villa in a chilled out place of the island. surely there's worse ways to spend a week.
