Finally had my wrist surgery after two very hungry days of delays in the hospital.
Going home tomorrow thankfully.
Also, ouch .

There's no fibre in my part of the estate, so at the time at least sky was the best of the options available for me, haven't looked at changing though so don't know what's out there.

Meteor is Eir now; I've been a satisfied and loyal Meteor customer since it was first launched so this better not be the start of a slide into shite.

I'm Sky broadband at home. It's not great but it's fine.

Can I ask a really stupid question for which I apologise in advance. How much difference in speed would I be likely to see, between one provider and another? Like if I was to get Virgin in tomorrow would it be pretty much the same or what.

You should see if you can find an advertised "contention ratio", or ask them if you cant, though they might not disclose it.
But this will give you a worst case scenario of the max number of people you could be sharing their advertised bandwidth...with.

I'd recommend avoiding Vodafone.

i've never had a problem with virgin, speed is great, never disconnects etc
but we're getting rid of telly & phone and it'll still be €50 a month for broadband, which is crazy money, right??

we used to be with vodafone & eircom and they were desperate. id be wary of eir

are digiweb any good?

Im paying about 45 a month but thats an old price and they dont lower prices here for existing customers because contracts are such a bitch to get out of.
I would say you should be paying no more than 35.

I find them very good. Their customer support is excellent. Touch wood but I haven't had down time in months.
