all sorted now. Had a meeting today, told them I was taking the redundancy. they weren't expecting that. Official finish date is 30th November but with holidays and match days to work between now and then, it'll be 9th-10 of November.
excited/scared.

Wonder if they're shitting themselves cos they don't have the cash set aside to pay a redundancy
yeah, my manger looked shocked that i took it. I could still apply but i don't want to. time to move on.
that did cross my mind when thinking about all this. was expecting "we will pay you the redundancy over 12 monthly installments"enemies/friends wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2017 2:22 pmWonder if they're shitting themselves cos they don't have the cash set aside to pay a redundancy

they haven't advertised the jobs yet. They were meant to to online last week but i'd say they are crapping it that they won't have anyone in before i go.
boss sent me to south America for work for the week, at a cost of about 5k
but keeps sending me work that can be done in Dublin easier (and there are 3 people more than able to do it in still in Dublin)
scattergun approach to management. I'm also cleaning up the confusion that she created when she came down here a few months ago.

I'm here for a reason like, it's just so pointless when you don't dedicate time on-site to the job at hand.
newp not seen much - it was a red eye - then off to the hotel to shower, then to the office across the road, back to hotel etc. In fairness, last time I came down I did two days in rio beforehand with a colleague.
travelling for work gets tiresome pretty quickly - in the past 6 weeks I've been to the Hungarian/Ukrainian border, Morocco and here. You see very little of anything other than hotels and restuarants. I try to tack on a weekend for myself where I can, but it works out a lot less often than I'd like. I signed up to 10% travel. it's been 30 - 50 % for the past 9 months. a lot of day trips which are fairly exhausting.
it's decent for the frequent flyer points though! although there's too much ryanair in there for my liking. one of the lads has done a lot less trips, but the ones he has done are business to the US, which gets him a lot more than a day trip to AMS!

Discovered the first 6 weeks of work absence due to injury/illness are fully paid for so im thinking of maximising my rights despite probably managing to get by with my wrist with an ergonomic keyboard after the 4-5 week period. Finally an opportunity to get some much needed domestic shit in order. Then its just a matter of working through to 2018 for a fresh set of vacation days to use for selective interviews. I think i can get 500 more after tax elsewhere, so despite everyone being sound, a miracle in IT, im not feeling sufficiently appreciated.
verbally handed in notice. bizarrely, they'll pay out bonus if I leave on 1 Jan. I will receive the bonus in March
CFO wants to talk to me at 5 about the prospect of the move internally - not sure I'd want that. we just have an office with top guys, and then PAs. be a weird place to work.
