I hate the personal interest/acheivements ones. Like they all love someone that has these great interests and acheivements until they start working there and become a pain in the hole because they have loads of interests that they take seriously.

The company one - say Apple and just go on about innovation and marketing and bla bla bla.

Id say ur better off picking one that failed. Most people will pick out a success story. Also if you can give a good account of why it failed it means you can go on about what you think it should have done and how it could have succeeded. As long asyour answer isnt complete bollocks you will come out of it better off

yeah i'd gravitate more towards a failed company. Course you could pick Eastman Kodak, cover why it was a success, but what ultimately doomed it to failure.

there should be a lot of literature about it online

you could do an unsuccessful example on Anglo Irish Bank

although it depends on what kind of job you are going for...you should really chose a company within your industry

well the second one is obviously your rowing

naming a weakness is grand. Give them one. Honestly and a level of self awareness, and a willingness to learn and improve is all they want if theyre asking that question. I'll usually give them something, one that would be honest enough, but you don't finish the sentence with it, you finish the sentence with the flip side, what you see your strength as being and saying that's the level you'd like your weakness to become.
But you don't call it your weakness, you refer to it as an area youd like to focus on.

Giving them a bullshit answer like "I can't help but micromanage" would sound like horsehit coming out of my mouth and id come across uneasy saying it, but it will probably please most people who've gotten to where they are by sucking cock and will spot and admire a fellow cocksucker, but i guess that depend on what area you work in.

I reckon I could do something about Rangers. That'd be good craic! Definitely think failure would be better cos that's the area the job is in.

As for rowing, I've achieved f*ck all of what I set out to achieve  But sure its good craic getting up at 5.30 to go to the gym for 3 years and still win nothing

i had one for college recently and it was quite unsettling

they asked nothing i had prepared for, had to wing all the answers

and they were the two most serious men i had ever met in my life. Like being interviewed by 2 undertakers.

I'll never forget the interviews we had to do to go to Wales for college. Everyone came out completely rattledTM. They were just the most ignorant, horrible, negative cunts. Then almost everyone got it. As opposed to my masters interview where they just went on at me about how great my portfolio was (it isn't BTW).

A lad we knew went to Liverpool for an interview when we were in 6th year. It was a half hour or 45 minute interview, and your man asked him first "Why dentistry and not medicine?" and then proceeded to spend the rest of the interview asking him about the IRA and the british army and bloody sunday etc.

He was raging after it, but apparently that's a technique they use to check you won't freak out at people under stress.
