this evening i picked myself up a bottle of bishops finger ale, a bottle of chocolate stout, a bottle of old jock ale, and a bottle of st peters creamy stout

goin down a storm. the bishops finger is probably the most approachable of them, but this old jock is so fucking good NOM. the other two are a bit like nigerian (export) guinness, relatively flat and quite strong. the chocolate stout is so good, like liquid malty alcoholc green&blacks chocolate. again NOM. the st peters i always get when splashin out on nice beers, it's a purist's stout through and through.

recommend nice beer here. no budweiser, heineken, dutch gold, tuborg (although tuborg is well nice) plz.

Love Hoegaarden Grand Cru -it's a little bit stronger than the plain.
Also, love the Boon Framboise - it's made with raspberries mmmm, they also have cherry!
And finally, Delirium Tremens- it quite strong and packaged beautifully!Image

i'm happy enough staying simple with Carlsberg, especially after seeing a crate of 20 bottles for €13 in Swords, in the Carry Out

Spose i'll keep it to beers accessible in dublin.

Westmalle Dubbel, Tripel Karmeliet, Rochefort Trappistes 8/10, Orval, Hoegaarden, Chimay red/white/blue, Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier (still found in some offies), and trying a Girardin lambic at least once is worth a shot. I had some Schneider Aventinus in Berlin, which was nice and might also be in the Porterhouse.

Best of the lot would have to be the rather pricey Rochefort's in the Porterhouse (~€7/330ml).

I had a chocolate ale in a place in south glasgow that brew their own beers. It didn't taste very chocolatey though.
