Took us til now to get back on remotely sound financial footing. 23 signings that cunt made and 17 of them (iirc) left on free transfers, with only 3 turning profit, 1 breaking even and 2 sold at a loss. Quarter of a billion quid down the pisser all in

Fill in the blanks:

SEASON........MANAGER..........POSITION
2003-04
2004-05
2005-06
2006-07 ......Martin O'Neill....... 6th place
2007-08 ......Martin O'Neill....... 6th place
2008-09 ......Martin O'Neill....... 6th place
2009-10
2010-11
2011-12
2012-13
2013-14

And before you quantify anything, keep in mind how much you gave out that O'Neill wouldn't spend the money of the '4th richest billionaire in the world'.
Yet now that's the rod you beat him with.

I've never heard you say a bad word about Randy Lerner, but he's the one who's run the club into the ground if anyone has.

Saw the adds for that alright. Seems a bit of a stretch to make a documentary out of 4 matches.

Not if they include all 4 matches in full.

Arsenal have turned down the offer to re-sign Cesc Fabregas.

I know he'll probably go to a rival now and do really well there but I'm relieved we aren't taking him back.

Why?

He is an amazing player. I would love to see him at Liverpool.

He would be perfect for City, United, Chelsea. He would improve every squad in the premiership AND he is an old Arsenal head, maybe that's why you don't fancy him?

Im happy we have signed Emre Can but I think it will mean the end of Lucas :(

Do you think initially he will be brought in as a squad player as he can cover a few positions but generally he will settle as a defensive midfielder Emmo?

€12m is piss all for him too.
2 points, 8 games, 1 hero.

The team for ENIC's first game at the helm, a defeat at Derby:
N. Sullivan, S. Clemence, G. Doherty, S. Campbell, L.Young, A. Thelwell, S. Freund , T. Sherwood, L. King, A. Booth, L. Ferdinand

2 reasons. Firstly because he went on strike to get his move. Secondly because the last thing I wanted this summer was another attacking midfielder. If we needed an AM maybe I'd be a bit more forgiving of him. We need re-enforcement elsewhere.

as much goodwill as i have for Lucas, I'll be happy to see the end of him.

He had one wonder season, as the only bright light when Hodgson came in, and is probably still useful as a DM. But since Gerrard is playing DM, Lucas is utter turd as a CM when in place of Henderson, Allen or Coutinho

Please to get Can

Never heard of Can but he seems like a talented young fella, strong and comfortable on the ball. I too wouldn't be too sad to see the back of Lucas. We seem to have gone beyond him. He doesn't really fit into our system anymore. Allen and Henderson are almost as good these days at the harrying and far better on the ball.

On the Fabregas matter, class player but can totally understand Arsenal overlooking him. He woulda cost £30mill too, not as if they turning down a freebie.

Read about 2 months ago that Fabregas to United was going to go ahead this summer.
Still waiting for it to materialise, but apparently he's not happy at Barca anymore. Fans never took to him, considered him a traitor for leaving in the first place, without the club making a penny from him.

Didn't see the game, but I can't remember united ever going so long without a touch at old Trafford. Well over 30 passes there. Ludicrously composed football from Sunderland

Ha!

Cesc to Chelsea is the beat on the street. Will be sad to see him at another English club but better Chelsea than Utd for me.

We've been linked with Ballotelli a bit recently. Worth a punt for 20-25m I reckon.
