Really hope Germany win now, Argentina are completely reliant on Messi to win. Mascherano and Zabaleta were decent tonight but Higuain, Aguero, Palacio etc all so average.

Ok I' don't know a whole lot about football but surely, if you take off Van Persie for Huntelaar, you at least let Huntelaar take a bloody penalty? Was putting Vlaar on first just some weird Van Gaal mind game that just didn't work out or what?

Ah well, even though Argentina have looked pretty shite any time I've seen them and the Germans will probably Blitzkrieg the fuck out of them in the final, the important thing is that I'm in the sweep!

Think Messi will tun it on for the final. It's the one thing his career is lacking. Hope Germany keep up last nights level and we get a classic.

Mascherano was a bit better than decent tonight, BadTurtle. Great performance

I'd be very surprised if the managers were picking the order of the penalty takers specifically Snrub, more likely the players volunteered. No point asking Huntelaar to go first if he thinks he'll miss.

Well yeah almost all the defensive players on both sides were great (apart from Rojo) but I'm not gonna get excited about that type of football, no matter how good they are. It was still 120 minutes with about 3 shots on target.

Ah so it's the players decision moreso than the coach's then? Even still, I remember Huntelaar scoring one against Costa Rica and figure he'd have had more experience with spot kicks than Vlaar anyway. Did he just bottle it on the occasion or something then, maybe?

See, this is why playing Championship Manager was a lot easier than real life; you made your players take penalties in whatever order you like and they just fucking did it.

I'd say Huntelaar was to take the 5th.

Garay took one too but his was second, when Vlaar prob should have taken one also.

Yeah, Huntelaar was probably set for 5th, pressure peno, vs Costa Rica too

All well and good vs Costa Rica when you've Kuyt, RVP, Robben and Sneijder there too. Less good when it's Vlaar

Garay was a peno taker, at very least at R Santander. Not sure if he took em at Benfica

Why did Flamini fall out of favour so fast?

the quotes from his agent would suggest that its true, but it will take a massive wage. Something like making him the best paid player at the club

LvG said 2 players declined to take a peno so thats why Vlaar took one

If you think Aguero is average you haven't a clue. He's clearly not fit either.

I had Holland in one sweepstakes and Brazil in the other.
Fucking motherfuckers couldn't just do me a service and reach the fuckign final. Ugh.
Don't care who wins now cos it certainly won't be me.

I guess you're wondering why he never done that at Villa.

Or am I being harsh on him? I never rated him as a defender but he was awesome last night. Even had the balls to take the penalty when no won else would (pity he missed it  ).
