A little baby girl as opposed to a large one? That must have been a relief.
Anyway congrats to you both! Enjoy further depletion of your resources, freedom and sanity for many years to come.

Thanks Eric.

This is our first time. Nervous and excited but once the wife and baby are healthy I don't care what else happens.

Yep. We've know but our parents don't want to know. I've let it slip twice now

What about yourself.

Is there any reason in this day and age why people dont wanna know the sex? Is it just for a surprise? Is it like Chrismtas morning for them? Surely its a whole lot handier to be able to prepare if you know the sex

I don't get the "whole" surprise thing. Sure its a surprise when you find out anyway. People are just weirdly backwards about it.
