If you registered your name in Irish in the South, and the normal version in the North, maybe that would work.

I think I'll just vote a load of mad looking independents for the craic. Couldn't do much worse.

loads of Irish people are doing this to get work permits beyond what they should get in australia/Canada
Do your two years under an English name, get a passport under your irish name and just apply again
apparently it was very effective until recently

All our council areas had the boundaries redrawn and merged into bigger councils so I had a new church hall to vote in for the first time. There was a nice big Red Hand Commando mural on the wall just beside the church hall. Very welcoming
Don't think Sinn Fein or SDLP will get too many seats on this council

I don't get how it ever worked considering your PPS number would remain the same for both names. But i guess that's something they were overlooking

At no point in the Canadian permanent residency process was I asked to give my PPS number
It's something I think a person could get away with
Are you thinking of trying to stay?

i was planning on applying for it after Xmas. Never bothered. Now the idea has fizzled on me quite a bit for now. I still have another 14 months on my visa to think on it a bit more
Gotta find out if i definitely qualify or not. Think my job does though
