Yes! We went to the Drake on Saturday afternoon, then back again later that night after dinner.

Obviously the pub's weekend trade is based around wedding parties rolling down from mount druid for pints. We were made feel very welcome by the staff and the locals too, the bar spotted a few pints for the bride and groom which was cool of them.

Nah, we've invaded more than our fair share of country pubs over the years, they're par for the course for us.

Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah the locals would be fairly welcoming for the most part except for one or two who just sit by the bar and grumble.

Was the usual small village gossip when the owners of mount druid moved to the place a few years ago. They're form the north and their surname is Murphy so the rumour started that they're related to slab Murphy.

Regrettably a different one, but to be honest if that had been my Castletown I wouldn't have been at all suprised.

Absolutely, please do. It blows every other wedding venue I've seen out of the water.

The picture of the box with the easy singles and slices of bread in it was amazing. The whole thing is just perfect.

I hope howya Dave will spot you a few too. And well done, it sounds appropriate as to the style in which i'd imagine Dick Jones would enter wedlock.
