Clever.

But shit.

Is there any chance that someone could run in a platform of anti hard brexit and make inroads?
There's no one credible left

Don't think so. Labour are split on it and everyone else is too small but are doing a pretty good job of eating into Labours support.

Pretty much. I think the Tory majority will increase, then May can say "we have a mandate from the people to do whatever we want re Brexit"

France is in just as bad a state. Macron or Le Pen, probably, thats a horrible choice. Maybe Melenchon can save the day.

Melenchon is running on a platform to elave the EU as well though.

Theres a very good chance the 2nd round could be Melenchon/Le Pen as he';s more likely to take the others votes, not hers

that would be a disaster from an EU perspective.

The stakes are higher is what i mean. I remain hopeful 'cause she doesn't dominate the media but it's crucial young people stop being lazy this time.

I think there's a huge difference between Macron and Le Pen in fairness. With Le Pen, you know what you're getting. Macron is a complete dark horse. He could turn out to be terrible, but not to the degree that Le Pen would.

I would've thought Melenchon is the dark horse and Macron is the status quo, which i think is needed right now.
Also, it was -1 this morning and it's snowing lightly, what the absolute fuck.

I don't think Macron is a status quo candidate. I think he'd make things far worse than they are now. His corporatism is pretty extreme even compared to Hollande.

Melenchon is a known quantity in terms of french politics though. Marcon is the johnny-come-lately. No one really knows what he's about or what he stands for really, other than knowing his CV.
