tax aside the benefit to local economies is huge. And so many Irish SMEs rely on the trade from the multis...
Completely agree. Tax the rich, by all means, but don't tax the job creators, and the ones who'll up sticks and leave overnight without a second thought.

And like you say, the ancillary jobs the provide to genuine Irish SME's is massive.

If this is our niche, so be it. We're like the Monaco of the British Isles. Just with more functional, family orientated vehicles and women.
we may not be as polished and perma tanned as our female counterparts on the french riviera but we are certainly...functional...yes

Well thats a false dichotomy.
Well to me it is pretty black and white. We can spin the old line about our educated workforce and knowledge economy but we all know it was purely the tax breaks that attracted the multinationals here. They simply would not be here otherwise

Got a phone call from Revenue today looking for payment of €600 in tax arrears.

Apple would need to make a €12m profit to get squeezed for that.

This sad fucko however is asked to hand over 40% of the €1,500 rent I received that didn't even cover the mortgage.

It might be, if we were setting out with it as a fresh gameplan tomorrow, but its the bed we've made for ourselves a long time ago now.
its very much the choice we are left with.

Heh

Ireland could buy three Large Hadron Colliders and have enough left for a few performances by Kanye West.

Photo some guy posted on boards taken this morning from above the EP site. Kinda surprised how much is still to be done to the place. Still assembling Rankins wood tent, hoardings to go up around B&S etc. Giant photo warning!

That pic would put you in the mood alright. If the weather stayed like that now it'd be grand.

Theres too many people, thats the main problem. And theres even more this year. Like Body and soul is not the intimate chill zone it once was when there a million people at every single tent

Don't really care this year tbh. Haven't been since 2013 now. I much prefer going to Primavera and B&S instead.

Spent money I was holding on to for EP this year on going to Sheffield last weekend for an all day gig with fifteen+ bands. Mjch preferred that to the idea of EP.
