yeah i liked the reviews, lists and recipes

but the tone and writing style from him personally made me cringe at times. Other contributors were not a problem.

I see colm tobin publicly tweeted him asking to be removed from the list of contributors

I can definitely remember a argument being had about the use of knacker as a term for scobe and most people saying it didnt necessarily mean traveller but Emmo maintaining that any time it was used it was an insult to travellers.

It was sparked off by some animation somebody had done that used knacker as a term for scobes.

Edit: I see Zook got there already

the website is good, but niall harbison is stuck up his own hole

i remember reading him saying before that after he sold his start-up he could have taken the easy route, gone to silicon valley, gotten equity funding and have a billion dollar start-up. about how he met with the collisons when they were starting stripe, etc.

easy route me hole. he did very well with simply zesty, but sure those collison brothers sold their first company for a similar sum when one of them was still in school - they're tech geniuses

Just saw this article he put up a couple months ago, about how Dublin needs to be more like SF; http://lovindublin.com/opinion/7-things ... ving-city/

Completely cringe-worthy, the man's an idiot. A self-important, deluded, middle-class idiot.

a fucking self-important, deluded middle fucking class idiot

as he might say himself

he has a book coming out
Hello, Alan Partridge. Coming to see my book being pulped. It’s great that I’m actually putting something back. There’s a lot of dignity involved. It looks like porridge! Word porridge! There’s my book! There’s my book!.

Wikileaks is banned in work. was googling something in relation to a client and they must be mentioned in something on the website but our network won't let me in.

If someone said knacker to me I'd automatically think of scobe/scumbag/skanger rather than traveller.
Although to be fair it's not like there's no intersection between those two sets.....

Knacker is a great word, but I'd only use it in relation to scumbags, not travellers.

Yeah me too. The problem is how knacker (as scumbag) came to be derived from knacker (traveller). Can't really hide from the etymology, which is extremely negative.

yeah that article is awful....from a website supposed to be about loving Dublin.

this part of his bio is the worst "From his early days as a chef right through to his discoveries in all things tech and digital marketing, Niall’s been touted as one of the driving forces behind Ireland’s recovery."

In fairness, some of the issues he addressed were relevant, the scumbag problem, the homeless epidemic etc. but the way in which he discussed was downright ignorant. It might be okay in conversation with your mates down the pub but not on a public/commercial platform with such a big readership.

He has been fairly scalded by this whole thing and is stopping writing opinion pieces now.
