Here if you like Fatal Deviation lads, you have to see Taffin. Pierce Brosnan and half the cast of Glenroe and Fair City in a gritty thriller set in the midlands around 1988. It's fucking amazing.
My brother was telling me about Taffin, he absolutely loves it! I really thought he was being serious when he was telling me about it though... must give it a look!

well this is it. I was giving out about him and even my da said he could relate to him (he was listening to it coz my sister blares the music out of her room), some song about him walking over the dublin belfast train line in kilbarrack, and geese or something.

I listened to that song a while back and the thing that stuck in my mind was how he said blatantly

well say what you will about damo but he's stayed grounded
Moneywise it’s not what people reckon it is. I’ve often had fellas come up to me go “Jaysus Damo how much did you get for that article?” I says you don't get paid for articles in papers or playin on the radio and you might get 100 euro for being on the Late Late show on TV. You make 80 cents an album if it’s sold for 17 Euro. HMV get around 9, Sony around 8 Euro and I get 10% of what Sony get. So you can imagine how many albums people need to sell to make money.

Only 1% of people with record deals get rich off them I reckon. But what is rich? Doin what you love doin equals being rich to me, so I'm a billionaire!

When you do a show you pay the band and tour manager, pay for fuel, the driver, per diems (everyone’s daily expenses), sound man, guitar tech, agent, manager, flights, hotels taxis (if needed), VAT and income tax. Then you get what’s left which sometimes is good and sometimes is a bill. But as I tell people I would get credit union loans, rob banks, even sell me body (I'd probably starve) to do what I do. To have a roof over the head and a full stomach and great family and great friends and to write and play music, I mean let’s face it, it don't get any better than that!

Going to go to Orbital's DJ set in TP at the end of the month. Should be a laugh.

had read about him yesterday. His missus left him over the whole incident too, which may have had a lot to do with it too, more than just a AUD$10k fine

Not as though he was fined upwards to the damage he done

EDIT: I'm assuming it was suicide

I'm also assuming that he lost his Aussie permanent residence or whatever he had as a result of it

I know for a fact that if I get arrested over here then I'll be turned down when it comes time to renew my PR or apply for citizenship

not many big must see acts but a lot of stuff scattered throughout the line up that is perfect festival material for me

Hah, the eurovision never ceases to amaze me. Saw the bearded lady earlier, song was actually deadly, so stuck a few quid on at 20/1, just looked now and hes the favourite to win.. Gwan Austria!

Ireland didn't qualify, prob for the best.

My cousin offered to put me on the guestlist for Glasto earlier (his band is playing it). I don't know if he was joking or not or if there is even a gueslist for bands of their size, but I couldn't go anyway... I hope he was joking!

I think the lineup is unreal when it's laid out like that
Get the eggs, get the flan in the face, the flan in the face, flan in the face, dance you fucker, dance you fucker, don't you dare, don't you dare, don't you, flan in the face
