I've a wedding on friday of two old mates which should be brilliant. The combination of the two means it should be the biggest gathering of people from around our area + schools in a very long time.

Christmas Eve in howaya dave's, 1999 stuff.

It'll be grand. It's an open bar so if anyone complains about not stocking something, then they can fuck right off.

Speaking on behalf of my diabetic missus: slimline tonic.

I also know somebody who only really drinks JD, which I know falls under whiskey but I assume you're talking Irish there.

Only drinks JD is a load of shit if you are supplying an open free bar. That'd be like me arriving and saying "oh wheres the craft beer".

I might add a liquer/digestif like Amaretto or Grand Marnier, but I can't shake the feeling there is something really obvious missing.
Shots.. sambuca, jager. . Everyone does shots at a wedding
I'll never get how anyone likes Sambuca. It's the one shot I just can't tolerate.

Tequila?

Well he'll drink pints the odd time but it's pretty much JD all the way. He wouldn't expect to have at a free bar I don't think, I was just naming a fairly popular drink that wasn't on the list.

i only really drink JD or rum on nights out. beer leaves me too bloated and if i'm eating at various intervals, like say at a wedding, then beer is a no go altogether.

i'm done with tequila completely now. drank the arse out of it for years. i was doing tia maria shots at the weekend lol. these seem to be the fashionable choice now.

I stick to pints 99% of the time. The reason I ending up drinking spirits at weddings is usually because someone has bottles of Morgans in their room to save money.

sailor jerry and ginger ale for me. rips a big hole in my wallet but i love it. i don't really mind when i'm at home - proper measures - but i bought one for nearly a tenner yesterday and i could barely taste any alcohol. the bastards drowned it in ice.

my night invariably ends on either whiskey coke or g&t. Winds me up to no end how few places do splash coke

In Toronto you'd be talking about $5-6 for rail & mixer, vs $6-8 for a pint. Here it's the opposite where your mixer pushes your drink close to €10. Bollox

Just this minute got handed a bonus of nearly €400, in the shape of a one4all card. Excellent stuff.

When I drink whiskey now I just have ice in it, you should try it Rob. I used to go with coke but all that sugar just makes hang overs worse and you can't really taste the whiskey so its a ruiner if you get anything decent.

aye my missus and a few mates only just have jameson with a wee bit of ice. it doesn't work as well with rum or JD though.

just been outside and part of the fence between us and our neighbours has broken and fallen into their garden. they're on holiday so i'm going to have to get in there somehow without it looking like i'm a trespasser. i'll also have to pay for the repairs too because i am sure it was our cats jumping on it which caused it to break :(

this on top of (another) massive gas bill which came through this morning. that's 360 quid for gas so far this year and we're not even close to the half way mark.

this is what you'd have to call a shitty morning. i haven't even left the house.

So I put my contact lens in inside out this morning.

Who knew how much agony that could actually cause.

Sambuca is vile. If you're doing a round of shots Tequila is really your only man. Goldschlager or Jager can be a bit volatile on the stomach after a skinful.

I'm not great for any shots but Tequila is the absolute worst for me. I went a bit mad on it one night when I was in college and haven't been able to stomach it since.
