Was watching some show the other night about the same sort of thing, optical illusions etc.

This one was a great example i thought:

Are those 2 squares the same shade of grey or is one darker than the other?

I know, its mad though. They're actually the same shade of grey.

And it can be proved pretty easily.

Both grey initially but the one on the left slowly faded blue, ditto red for the one on the right. Colours got progressively stronger until I got bored of looking and raced down here to post

Put your thumb across the black and white strips in the middle and you'll see.

Exactly. As in the large flat face of both tiles is the same.

How to see it:
Block the centre line where the 2 tiles meet with one finger, and block the bottom of the white tile where it casts a shadow on the ground with another.

Both the tablets are grey for me though one does appear to have a blueish hue and the other reddish.

I'm back in work after my long weekend off and they're after changing a load of procedures and I could not be fucked getting to grips with them.

I have a date tonight so that's all I really give a shit about today. Haven't been on one since April I'd say.

What's the plan, K?

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever been on a "date" in my life.

We're going to go for drinks then to a trad night. She's a music student from Portugal so is really interested in trad. I don't particularly care for trad but if she's game I'm there.

I've been on a few now. Most just involve getting steadily wrecked over the night so get over that initial awkwardness. Only ever had one bad one and ended up with her a few months later anyway.

Not much of a story. The date was a bit awkward and weird. (Loud pub, couldn't talk properly, barely knew her, she messaged me afterwards acknowledging it was awkward and we shouldn't meet again) Ended up getting to know her then through mates over the next few months and we ended up hooking up then. Fairly mundane!
