I'm brewing this morning. At 5 I've to go sing at a mass for a mate who died 9 years ago. He'd be 30 today. Gonna have a few drinks in his honour after that. Take it easy and watch the football tomorrow.

Yeah it was horrible. He died just a couple of days before his 21st, had been sick for a year or so. One of only 3 or 4 cases of CJD in Ireland during the whole "mad cow" disease thing.

Are there No people on your fb? I haven't seen one, only mad cunts on twitter.

My gf was saying she heard about some people, the militant water protester types, who were advocating a No vote as revenge for the other thing. wtf

I would hope/assume that there aren't enough of that particular strain of ignorant prick to actually sway the outcome though.

Nah no actual friends of mine. I don't think I'd know too many people voting no.

I just noticed someone else commenting on a fine gael status and I started reading comments. I really shouldn't have, I'm getting so annoyed here. I honestly thought the people of Ireland were smarter than this. I've no problem if someone wants to vote no but it's just their reasons for it are ridiculous.

I should have just ignored them but it's so hard

There was an article yesterday about how the Yes vote was far stronger in working class areas so I don't think there will be an Irish Water backlash in this referendum.

i just cant shake the tiredness the next day now. it's just been getting progressively worse as I've been getting older.

it doesn't come as any surprise but it is sort of depressing to know that a late night will pretty much always wipe me out the next day. it does make me want to stay out late less and less.

Re: no voters

i haven't seen any on my fb timeline

but 3 of my male friends, who I would have considered non homophobic, average, straight 30 something irish lads have made comments which would suggest they are on the no side. Their (misinformed) arguments are about kids needing a mother and father and that marriage has always been between a male and a female. I have tried to explain that this is not what the vote is about but at the same time I want to respect peoples views and right to their opinions, but i still want to change their minds. I think only 1 of those 3 will actually vote.

it has shocked me a little, i find it hard to get my head around some of the underlying prejudice
