we actually do have a mate who is an active tory supporter and I'm glad he lives in a different city to us because if we were meeting for drinks later then i reckon we'd probably fall out for the first time in our lives.

i'm hoping that there will be calm heads the next time we meet up, but it's hard to look someone in the eye who you know has helped to butt fuck you for the next five years, maybe more.

I was allowed vote which is odd. Does the reverse happen back home.

I wonder Will I be able to vote in an eu referendum?

i was expecting my twitter feed up to blow up once farage lost his seat but there's been a fairly muted response.

suppose they don't care too much because UKIP will no doubt appoint an equally odious successor and the problem wont exactly go away.

Listened to radio Ulster this morning, Northern Ireland is fucked for politics. You forget how much until you hear them sharting on. DUP and Sinn Fein need to fuck off.
it kills me.

i sometimes tune into nolan to get an idea of how things are, but i can never last more than 10 minutes max. a reasonable discussion just turns into a shouting match and a points scoring exercise and it fucking depresses the life outta me.
It was nice to see the media actually push them a little last night. Gerry kelly of Sinn Fein put some graph of Catholic and Protestant % in his constituency and they asked Adams and Martina Anderson why. Neither of them could give a straight answer or accept it was wrong. Adams tried to deflect and Anderson started going on about her "humble pradestant father".

And the DUP acceptance speeches were full of spite, especially Paisley Junior, Gareth Robinson and Simpson. Hateful shits.

In Ireland I think UK citizens can vote in local and European elections here but not general elections, presidential elections or referendums.

i knew fine well my vote would just disappear into thin air. the lib dem candidate in my constituency came 5th and that was fully expected.

i wouldn't have voted any other way, though. they're the party i identify with most. it'll be interesting to see now how they pick themselves up again.

Are the Libs Dems kinda financially conservative but socially liberal? If so I'd probably vote for them.

they're their own thing really. they're often called a centrist party, neither on the left or the right.
