Oh I know they won't. It's just a nice, delicious irony.

Watched him play at the Glade at Glastonbury back in 2004. It was sick.

No self respecting Squarepusher would want to be described as "awesome".

Niall. Stop there now. Easy tiger.

If this is a joke along the lines of Marriage will ruin gays, versus gays will ruin marriage then ha ha.

Otherwise there's no other position than you're a dickhead.

i assume it's coming from a 'why would you want to join a club that doesn't want you in the first place' angle which is a very subjective viewpoint to have

the last comment is just typical dickish condescension which is par for the course at this stage

There are many other positions, you just haven't thought them through yet.
This wouldn't be the first time ive expressed this opinion, and it looks like it won't be the last.
But since you've reacted with genuine wonderment instead of the usual ignorant attack...

If you're gay and you want to solidify your relationship then you should look elsewhere beyond the church. The church doesn't want you, nor should we make the church fold and accept you to increase it's scandalous tax numbers. If anything, the concept of marriage should be done away with, but that's hopefully a future vote.

As for the self respecting comment. I'm quite aware that many gay people believe in a creator/Jesus' da interpretation, and that Jesus was a pretty cool guy that would have accepted them, since if you believe that, his da is infallible and created them.

But marriage, if you hold such strong beliefs, means something else. For a start, if conducted in a church it means you follow a man made doctrine that condemns you to hell.

I'm amazed this needs explaining

I'm amazed you haven't realised that this has nothing to do with the church and that churches aren't going to be made marry gay people.

This will be a civil ceremony the same as if two non religious people get married. The church may disagree with it but it wont affect them in any way.

But hey we're the uninformed masses waiting to be educated by you. Though perhaps you could familiarise yourself wit the basics of this referendum before talking down to us (and gay people) about how we vote.

You thinking this is about gay people seeking acceptance from the church is as deluded as the No camps argument that it's about children's rights.

I've just read back your comment there Phier. I took you up wrong. It's not that you think gay people who want to get married are Jesus lovers, it's that the entire concept of marriage in your mind is tied in with Jesus/religion.

Surely you can see how that's a false assumption. Please don't make me spell it out to a lesser mortal as yourself. *sigh* #Berlin4win

It's not though. The word is linked to the faith literally by law.

So how did I get married because I didn't do it in a church, or have any religious aspect to the service?
