Also watched the first Derry Girls, funny enough but jesus the acting in it is shocking.
Really?? I think they're all very good. I think its meant to be overacted though isn't it?

Its strange seeing Tommy Tiernan as the quiet one of them all.

Why overact it though? The main girl is completely distracting the way she overacts and the nun in the school is clearly trying to steal the show by overacting too. The writing is grand, the actual jokes are decent, there is no need for the stupidly OTT acting.

It's probably quite loose with the truth but Waco is entertaining.

Burned through Big Little Lies in the space of a few days, super stuff, highly recommend it.

Great performances out of everyone, especially Reese.

Nicole and yer one Shailene Woodley played the fragile victim roles brilliantly, but I think she had an equally difficult task in playing the spoiled, prissy bitch while actually remaining very likeable for the audience.

I correctly guessed that Nicole's husband was the rapist; most people probably did though right? I read the book synopsis and it sounds like it would have been WILDLY obvious in that.

Streep cast for season 2, would you adam and eve it. As his mother, I'm told. That sounds amazing, but it feels like a show that could jump the shark at a moment's notice.

Correct. According to wiki it was controversial because it was nominated (and won) in the miniseries category at the Golden Globes, from which a second season should technically disqualify it. They announced after the nominations or something, so the other shows were bulling.

Well it was up against Top of the Lake, Fargo, Feud and The Sinner. None of those are an actual one series miniseries.

Its based on a book and it was just supposed to be a one off thing, but the writer of the book is writing the story for the second season now. It'll probably be a bit rushed but the first one was very good alright

Finally started Line of Duty last night. Flew threw the 1st 3 episodes. Seems outstandingly good. And from such a strong start, I'm hearing it gets better as it goes. Very excited to keep going.

walking dead is back
i suppose they had to give him a fine farewell considering who he is but fucking hell did he need an extra long episode?? "jesus christ die already!!!!"

it was laughable by around the halfway mark
it actually ended up seeming like a parody of itself

It was so bad. They can't do drama at all any more, the character stuff is just tedious. When there is action is ok but when its not fun its awful.

ah ffs, *THAT* was the reason for Old Man Rick? Bullshit. I've stopped caring about the show awhile back but am only watching it as there is nothing else on telly.

The BBC are producing a mini series about the City Watch books from Pratchett's Discworld. They are some of my favourites, really hope they dont fuck it up

I haven't watched The Walking Dead since season 2 I think. Lost interest.

What's going on with it these days, in a nutshell? Are they still walking?

Is there some sort of society re-established, like in The Stand, or are they just rambling along getting into adventures along the way?

Are the zombies a big part of it, or do they come and go as and when it's convenient for the writers.

Negan is still the big bad. they had a home and launched an attack on Negan and the rest of his group. that has been it for about two seasons. No society established, just groups attacking each other. zombies have really become a side part of the show, popping up for dramatic effect.

There are/were loads of little towns but a guy called Negan is fucking them all over. Rick and co have been fucked pretty hard, will get revenge by end of season (probably).
