I mentioned before in the thread and it's based on a mates experience so I can't vouch for it but he was in New Jersey with work and said if he was to go to New York again he'd stay in NJ as access was easy between the two and it was much cheaper than NY.

Might not suit as you're obviously leaving the city each night but he reckons it's what he'd do.

Are there scammers on AirBNB?

Seeing listings with no reviews that seem a bit too good...

They have an escrow system. With the example you gave you can get a full refund up to five days before arrival.
Provided you send money through Airbnb only.

Heading to Japan next week for 10 days. Going snowboarding up in Hokkaido for 5/6 days and have that all figured out, then will be in Tokyo for 3 days and 3 nights after which is where I would like your recommendations.

Friends who've been have told me just to wander around and take it all in (which is what I like to do on holidays anyway) but is there anything in particular that's worth seeing?

I'm staying at the Wise Owl Hostel right by Tokyo Central Station or whatever it's called. Would like to see some (just 1?) parks/temples if possible. And a good museum maybe. Other than that I'm easy. I know different areas of the city are known for different things, anyone able to give a run down of what there is to see in each?

Will check the thread now as I've just copped I know some of ye have been there because of your posts in this exact thread.

Cheers.

I was there for a few days last summer, but was at the end of a long trip traveling around China so was a bit wrecked and didn't do much. Just wandered about the Imperial Gardens, took in Shinjuku, Shibuya, Roppongi. I was staying in Akasaka, in one of the capsule hotels.

It's an unbelievably clean place. That's the first thing I noticed about it, especially after coming from Hong Kong/China. I made sure to go for a sushi set menu, was class but can't remember the name of the place. It's a small chain, they have a few all around Tokyo; I'll try to find that one out.

What's the benefit of moving to Switzerland?

Well, the flag's a big plus.

Boat trip is good.

See if there's any gig on at Vega.
Rundetaarn in the middle of the city has great views.

Pretty sure Tivoli will be closed this time of year. It was last week, but not sure if it will be in 2 weeks time seeing as we're shoulder season now.

The Tycho Brahe Planetarium is pretty cool. Deadly 3D Imax thing floating through the universe.
