Cheers V!
I would have loved to have basically done Ho Chi Minh City up to Hanoi by buses or motorbike but I got over-ruled and made to spend more time in Thailand than I would have liked relaxing on the beaches

Free honeymoon digs with Casino!
I have to say, I wish I had more time in Cambodia, I feel I'm going to want to go back there and I haven't even been yet.

I’ll probably watch the football somewhere in Hanoi tonight if anyone fancies the oddest boardie meetup ever
EF, the ball and chain must be getting on your tits at this stage surely?
Casino, have you been to Sapa? What’s the best way to get there and can I DIY it or should i go on tour?

Did you secure the next job in advance? I might do something like that soon.
Second thoughts, scratch that. Jan/Feb is hiring season an i'm supposed to wait 6 months in a new position before taking any vacations. Summer '18 is already taking a hit

No problem - I'm looking to make a quick long weekend stop over in NY to watch some baseball next summer and I'm gonna head there every morning for breakfast

Anyone have recommendations of Ho Chi Minh City accommodation ?
I was there many years ago, but saw very little of the city so I've no idea of the different areas.

There was one when we there on the honeymoon, I was intersted in heading over for a look (Koh Samui is beside koh phangan) but the wife had no interest. Was talking to a couple the next day who got the boat over and only stayed about an hour or so before coming back, think the music was doing their head in.
I'd have zero interest in the music either but think it would've been worth a look.

Wiki tells me "the bars on the sunrise beach of Haad Rin town stay open and play music such as psychedelic trance, R&B, drum and bass, house, dance and reggae."
Suppose some of it would be all right, just a matter of finding the spot playing music you like.
