This is on my Spotify Discover Weekly playlist and I've had it on repeat since.

Dirty Projectors - Stillness is the Move

phpBB [video]

Her voice is just amazing. Major Lazer's Get Free is one of my favourite songs of the last few years, if not ever. Does she sing on many more Dirty Projectors songs? Seems to be the only one on Bitte Orca, I don't care as much for the stuff with yer man singing on

That's my problem with Dirty Projectors also, yer mans voice. The music is great though, but the girls songs on Bitte Orca and Swing Lo Magellan are the best. You kinda need to suffer the rough with the smooth, it's his show mostly though.

Music on Swing Lo is excellent also

Hi Custodian on youtube is a good sampler for the album

She's meant to have a solo album in the making, don't think it's been released yet

Just discovered Die Antwoord's sample of Ageispolis, Ugly Boy.
Also had one of the best street music days ever, but linking is pointless.

Some class songs on that Major Lazer album, loved the one with Ezra from Vampire Weekend.

Speaking of which, the new Weeknd song is great, very Michael Jackson sounding.

I thought he was completely out of ideas on it. There was an unpleasant bit of publicity attached to that in the way he wouldn't admit he'd robbed Machine Gun by Portishead for one of the tracks. Earned it then, sure that is what it is. Glad to hear something I like by him again though.

Joanna Newsom has a new album in October.

New single sounds like piano led pieces on Have One on Me, look forward to hearing the album

Haven't listened to the new Weeknd song yet but I always end up thinking he just sounds like a (very good) Michael Jackson impersonator.

I really love his first mixtape but I don't think anything else of his has grabbed me.

I love the third mix tape too.
What he writes about is a bit too dark for MJ (most of the time) though, which is part of his charm.

really brilliant.

listened to it twice already this morning. strikes me as being very much a headphones album, though. not sure how it would come across live? he's playing the apollo later in the summer and the capacity is around 4k. might be better to sit down for that one.

madisen ward and mama bear, who i like a lot, are the support for that gig too
I think it may be his best album which is some feat given how highly I rate previous attempts.

I already have front row seats for his RFH date. Very interested to see how he compiles a career spanning set list that works.
I wouldn't be a Sufjan superfan or anything but I've got a couple of his albums and this one is definitely my favourite.
Interesting. Love Sufjan, but I listened to this twice when it came out and found it hard to get into. Must go back to it.

Not their best album but I'd still rather listen to PE than most modern hip hop. Think I'm turning into a hip hop version of one of those boring old classic rock guys.

I'd listen to a lot of older hip-hop buy the majority is new stuff I think. There's just so much good stuff going on.

I agree with Mr. K, Vince Staples is probably my favorite album of the year so far.

Been listening to the new album by a band called Other Lives recently, it's very good.
