adebisi shank got named track of the week in Guardian at weekend, good for them.

Not a bad tune either.
‘Big Unit replaces Arcade Fire’s fey indie “woahs” with a sample of a robot getting waterboarded’

Listening to it now. That second track has some horrendous lyrics "Poor little fella has got rubella"

moz's heart doesn't sound in it any more

I know he's got his health problems at the moment but I'm surprised there was never a few UK dates timed for around the release of this album

I wasn't particularly fond on 'years of refusual' either, it's a very hard album to like

I reckon there's still a bit of hope for this newest one though, it'll just require a few more listens

You are the Quarry seems to have been his last real hurrah. And I'm pretty sure his health problems would go away if he had a burger.

I love ringleader of the tormentors

but that was 8 years ago

give or take a few average singles there's been precious little else to crow about since then

his book was a good laugh mind you

listened to it a few more times and I'm warming more and more to it

it's just a shame that the lyrics aren't stronger

staircase at the university is a good tune and I like the music in the title track

staircase is my fave one from the album so far.

very big band...

i wonder how much influence he has on the music anymore or if it's all boz and the band.

his live band are very rocky. as far as i know it was mostly written and recorded before most of the health issues. his voice is holding up and yeah some of the lyrics are almost a parody of himself - more meat songs.

i like it, one listen through the day it came out and have gone though bits and pieces again.

and it's title is shite.

some of the tunes are spot on. kiss me a lot, bullfighter, staircase. but the lyrics to these songs are all pretty substandard. lazy even.

mountjoy is probably the strongest 'all-rounder' on the album. perhaps along with instanbul. but staircase is a song I can see myself asking for at a smiths disco in the not too distant future.

anyway, it's much better than years of refusal. I didn't care much for that one.

Listening to a few people before Longitude on Sunday. JVMcMs album is class. Banks sounds like another one to go see. I'll give Rudimental a go based on Glastonbury but I don't expect to stay for the whole thing. Shame Massive Attack, Mano Le Tough and New Jackson clash. Bad scheduling.
