there's an event on the wednesday night, before the festival 'officially' kicks off.

not sure if they hold it in the same venue as every year but in 2011 it was a real pain to get to, from where we were staying. and then they had a total meltdown with their ticket system at the bars, all the computers failed.

but if there's a band you want to see then it's worth going along to it. sure you might as well. the venue is cool (if it's the same one). it was a big old courtyard.

They were included last year and I see nothing to suggest they aren't this year.

The venues last year were Barts and Apolo, two clubs on the other side of the city from Parc del Forum.

The Sunday gig last year was mental as they had Thee Oh Sees on followed by Fucked Up. No security, nothing. Continual stage diving and moshing. I came away from it with bruised ribs. Great fun.

I havent found anything concrete except that they were last year. I think i might have read Prima themselves confirming it in the FB account. Id say so anyway.

Dang. Coulda taken more time off.
Though it's nice to start with the basics and then do the long haul when you go back and know the ropes.

that's possibly the greatest lineup i've ever seen.
tickets, flights and hotel booked.

got the AC Forum myself, it's pricey but location is unreal. i ran out for a quick nap between sets the odd time 2 years ago!

me and everybody i know who's gone agree that the crowd can be terrible though, just make no noise. urban setting doesn't help. also the language barrier makes it impossible to talk to locals for random chats. had the most fun bumping into aussies, brits and yanks

Yeah, the crowd are pretty shocking alright. Very little enthusiasm. We ran into a load of Latvians before Tyler, The Creator and had a ball with them. Zero craic off the locals though.

I listened to 'Yank Crime' for the first time last night after my mates telling me for years that they were great. Phenomenal stuff

I'm imagining him playing a single note on the bass with loads of delay on it like on the soundtrack for 'The Thing'.

Uugh, just realised that gig will probably be on in the Auditori. Sitting in the dark for an hour while the sun blazes away outside.

I really hated the concrete setting. Wrecked the back and legs over the course of the festival. Was craving a bitta mud or grass. It's completely sterile too. Wouldn't be rushing back. Porto was better.

What we want to do is create a powerful sense of dread. See, the longer the note, the more dread.

Sold out around five o'clock on Saturday. First time in a few years and maybe the quickest it's ever sold out.
