Looking into renting an apartment with mates.

Last time we stayed somewhere in the Gothic Quarter, was grand.

Anyone have experience of staying closer to the Forum?

Booked a hotel myself. Went for the far side of Forum, near Badalona, instead of city side. Looks like a shithole but its got a bed so itll do. Plus its not ridiculously far from the festival so if i end up having to walk back it wont be the end of the world. £260 for 2 of us for 5 nights (wed-mon)

I stayed in AC Forum once (not during the festival) That would be fucking sweet. Swish, hotel, right across the street from the venue.

stayed in AC forum a few years back during the festival. it was incredible but it wasn't cheap. think it was £850 for the 2 of us for 5 nights.

but they stocked the mini-bar every single day, and it was complimentary (we didn't get charged for any of it anyway).

we spent every morning / early afternoon before the festival in the swimming pool on the roof, and in a massive stroke of luck, they forgot to charge us for the drinks bill we ran up during our time there. it was a fair bit too.

really do recommend it, though, if you can stretch to it. you can be home in your bed within 5 minutes of leaving the festival. our room faced out onto the festival site though so you could hear the noise until it finished, but we were usually too pissed to notice it.

yeah the pool was packed like that too when we stayed but we just got on with it. managed to get to spend time in the jacuzzi and sauna too, although there was often awkward silences with other people.

only downside was that we decided to have a meal in the hotel restaurant on the final night of our stay (after the festival had finished) and it was really expensive, and rubbish.

aye it was extravagant. i don't know what came over us. we'd stayed in an apartment off las ramblas the year before and it didn't work out cheap either, and was a total ballache getting home each night, so the missus just wanted to be right beside the festival for handiness.

Just a room with Airbnb. Just a cancellable placeholder really until i hear back from people to see what's what with sharing a larger apartment.
But i don't hold much hope in the organisational skills of groups of people, so a bed's a bed.

The daily breakdown is out.

Good thing it's not for ages 'cause i don't have time for this.
Also, Norwegian airlines would want to fucking mail-confirm my booking sooner.
Anyone else ever experienced delays with such a simple thing? (it's not really, but the mail part is)

I did once with United Airlines. Booked and thought it was all fine. No confirmation email came through. Got in touch a week later "sorry sir this fare is no longer available, you'll have to pay $x+y=ridiculous amount more for the same seats you tried to book last week.

I'd give them a call.

Do bands normally get added after the initial announcement? I dont think so last year, but the year before I seem to remember a load of class stuff added in march?

Its good enough as it is, im just gettin greedy!

Also, ive noticed some of the stuff happens at clubs throughout Barcelona but is free with festival ticket. Like, Mudhoney arent actually playing at the main festival, but doing a show somewhere else in the city? Seems like a pain in the balls
