I couldn't go last year, were they still there? The festival has changed a lot in 10 years some good, fairground rides in the campsite definitely bad. :x

They had the faiground back again in the campsite this year, think it takes up too much space that could be better used for more tents. The only good thing is that they were playing music at a reasonable time, would have been going spare if I had to listen to that stuff all weekend

If ye camp in that site the fairground is the least of your worries. The Garbage/portaloos/21 year old melters running around in green man suits off their tits is worse!

This may sound like a stupid question, but is the Picnic full of geebags these days?

Yeah but they don't really bother you if you have any sense. A bit like the fairgroud rides. Don't camp in the eejity campsites and you're fine.

I've always camped in the eejity campsite. I would never camp in a quiet campsite on principle.

I could probably ignore them, I never really saw anyone resembling a scumbag at the Picnic in all my years there, despite this place being diseased with talk of them. Maybe I'm a scumbag!

Same as that, so often I see on here the talk about the crowds getting worse etc. I know there's been robberies from tents and stuff but it's not happened to anyone I know and I've never seen anybody that looked particulary dodgy.

I've only missed a few since 04. A few factors have contributed to the increase in wankers
1) There were no day tickets before (am I right?)
2) The lack of a viable mainstream Irish festival/the decline of oxegen.
3) Festival Republic selling too many tickets ( the late night forest rave has now become an accident waiting to happen)
and pushing mainstream acts into a boutique festival.

The campsite fairground is a byproduct of this of course. I'm not against them per say but they look like they belong in in another festival. Tent theft has increased also and is brazen, that's not anecdotal, It's happened to our group the last 3 festivals. EP isn't exactly spoiled but some elements have been lost, probably for good.

I haven't been since 2011, so since Oxegen has been gone and the capacity has increased, etc, which is why I ask. Going by Facebook it does seem to be very popular with people who would never have considered it until a couple of years ago. Most of my mates who always went are going to Body and Soul these days, though they've never noticed/complained about the crowd at the Picnic.

In terms of lineup there's no probably no single act who'd get me to go to EP, have to be pretty strong overall to get me to go I think

Gonna get a B&S ticket soon
