Khabib is nightmare matchup for Conor, but Conor is a nightmare matchup for Khabib because he's not so good on his feet, and as you said he got rocked in the first. In saying that though, I think he'd be likely to shoot a lot quicker against Conor as he would Johnson, because Johnson's wrestling is pretty good. If Conor is taking a few months off then they should arrange Khabib\ Ferguson again
Khabib/Ferguson is gonna happen next i'd say, but it will be some fight. I'd say Ferguson would be a horrible opponent for McGregor as well. They are the 2 lads in the 150 div, that if i was McGregor, i'd be avoiding till last.

Only got to see his fight v RDA from the week before, on Friday night, but he looked really good again. Took no risks, or fewer at least, and completely dismantled him over 5 rounds.

The Irish Times still can't resist this kind of craic.

He's not one of the top athletes in the world. He's not one of the greatest fighters of all time. No no no no NO. He's just a mouthy prick from Crumlin who got lucky.

The whole article is dripping with condescension.

I'm going to UFC Belfast this Saturday.

Are there any of the matchups I should be looking out for in particular?

Have it on now. Haven't heard of him before, but he comes across as someone who covers UFC because he has to, and resents it.

"A lot of what I suspected I would dislike about UFC was confirmed..."

"I was impressed by his power, but really it's just mediocre boxing (...) mcgregor is a half-decent boxer I suppose (...) interspersed with moments of wrestling and a lot of pressing each other against the cage, which is incredibly dull, (...) even UFC fans would agree that's yawn time."

etc.

Edit: Says Woodley/Thompson should have been stopped, the draw decision was baffling to him.

Presenters seem subtly unimpressed at his attitude.

He's a dyed in the wool, boxing nut.

They've had him on a few times, when Ali died earlier this year, and again recently enough, plugging his book, on Ali v Berbick, Ali's last fight.

He's grand when he's talking about boxing.

Theres a nightclub in Cookstown promoting Conor McGregor appearing on Saturday night. Theyre even charging 12 dabs in for it. Surely not. The mans only after making many millions at the weekend why would he be showing up at some dive in cookstown.

God can you imagine all the boys getting into their three-pieces to head down to Sense that night. Eyeing each other up.

Watched the MMA Hour last night. John Kavanagh was on it.

He was trying to pass off Holloway and Diaz as the no. 1 contenders in his eyes at 145, and 155.

First time i've felt like they are ducking and diving fighters. There's no way in the world Max Holloway is ahead of Aldo in anyones eyes.
They're in a great position to get whatever they want though.

Nate should come out and fight again soon. I know he said he wouldn't till he got the triology. he should cash in while his stock is high and while he's the big ticket, and before things move on.
He made himself a big draw in his own right. he doesn't really need to be waiting for McGregors blessing.

Was thinking last night, doesn't Aldo having an interim belt mean McGregor has to fight him next?

***Statement from Sense Nightclub***

We have just received confirmation that Conor Mc Gregor has cancelled his personal appearance in Sense Nightclub this Saturday 19th of November. We are awaiting a statement from either Conor or his agent whom we made the booking through.
In the meantime we can only apologise for this but it is totally out of our control.
Tickets bought online can be refunded on the Eventbrite website. VIP refunds can be obtained by calling the Sense office tomorrow between 10am-4pm on 02886767575.

When we know more information as to why Conor cancelled, we will post this.

Apologies again,

Team Sense
