I've had to go to a physio for a bad back gotten from sitting at a desk too long mainly. he was quite impressed at how "abnormal" it was. Standing desks are really popular here. If i was in a job where i was always at the same desk, i'd definitely get one.
I have a desk with hydraulic legs. I usually have it up to work standing, but if I fancy a rest just hit the button and drop it to sitting height. It was dear but one of the best things I've ever bought.
how much we talking?

Some day i'l get a job where I'll actually be at my desk and not in cramped meeting rooms and dank portacabins!

can only sleep on my right hand side.

sometimes on my left but only if I'm really really knackered.

front or back just wont work for me.

in fact lying on my back is a surefire way to keep myself awake if i need to.

I never sleep on by back either, I don't think I could go to sleep on my back to be honest. I'd mostly sleep on my front with my hands under the pillow.
The odd time I'd end up sleeping on my side but I don't like doing that as I end up with a dead arm. I've woken up a fair few times with a dead arm and end up giving myself a smack in the face because I have no control over my arm.

Tried the whole phone alarm on the other side of the room thing. 2 days in a row: great success.

lsat two days i've slept through the alarm. made it in on time yesterday, but was an hour late today. my app updated and introduced an automatic timeout. that won't work for me! my room is awkward with all the plugs at the head of my bed, but i need to do something

I got a new winter duvet. 15 tog. Put it on even though it's not that cold. Absolutely nailed to the bed now in the mornings with the comfort of it.

Snoozing is my favourite. I tried to do it this morning and lifted my bfs arm up so I could snuggle under it and he told me to get up. The prick

so i've started going to bed earlier, but it's mostly just resulted in me sleeping longer, not getting up earlier.
