for the week for work aye! Sao Paulo is some city - huge. Sky scrapers as far as the eye can see! flying back tomorrow, and then on to the much less glam Bonn ...

I will annoy people less with my snapchats from there!

Bonn isn't a great city but its very close to Koln, which is well worth checking out.

I have a newfound respect for frontend design now that a colleague has done a demo on performance.
I have been optimising just 10% of the time taken to load webpages.

If you're on either side and do not at least have a decent understanding of the other you're not trying hard enough.

Agree. It's one of my bigger gripes about my current place. Not enough Ops awareness that is.
I would hate hate all the compromises that need to be made on that side though.

Just overheard someone in my office say their cat is vegan.

Another person, incredulously, said how do you know your cat is vegan? How did you discover this?

He says, because we wanted it to be.

That seems a bit fucking cruel doesn't it?

I can understand why vegans wouldn't be buying whiskas in gravy and all that. I suppose there's vegan alternatives for the food they can purchase.

Wouldn't fancy being a pidgeon in their backyard though.

its not a bit cruel, its animal fucking cruelty by the book. Cats need a meat based diet. You cant give them supplements are anything like that or their kidneys start to shut down. fucking cunts. I'd report them
