I'm staying within the same company, just a different department. In fact, I just counted it; I'll be 27 steps away from my current seat.

There is at least one batshit insane person on it.
She's always right, no matter what. And not in the usual way where they refuse to be wrong and always try to deflect or point the finger else where. There's something actually wrong with her.
The only direct exposure I've had to this was before a training exercise where she mentioned that there was a thing we'd to do before it. I told her that there was actually two things. She just said "no there wasn't." Whenever I tried to explaining, she just repeated it. I then pointed it out on the sheet she had. She looked down and then moved seat all while saying "no there wasn't". She seems completely normal the rest of the time.

Congrats Shivo

11 years is a serious amount of time.

Have been giving notice to employers and stakeholders myself this week.

Three more weeks and then I'm outa here!

I'm about to start work on a new 3 year project in work here. It's based around researching whether hydrogen (created as an output from renewable energy such as wind turbines) is viable as a fuel to run public transport networks. Looks pretty interesting as a topic tbh. Quite looking forward to getting stuck into it.

Can't lie though. It also helps that the potential areas for pilot sites to investigate the feasibility are on islands including Tenerife and Lanzarote (and the Aran Islands) and there's existing case studies in San Diego and Tokyo that I can hopefully swing a visit to one or both of.

I should probably just leave the board. It would be fitting as I joined just 2 months before I started the job.

Although after 2 days on this team, I think I'll get some mileage out of these misfits.

If it wasn't sad enough that the manager likes people to call him by his nickname "Primetime", he actually gave himself that nickname.

Started in this job three weeks ago, got an offer for a better, more stable job two days in. Accepted it and now I'm keeping my head down in training here until I have a start date for the new company. I feel like a spy or something.
