Wouldn't have a hope of knowing your kids if you had any, for example.
working till 7 is hardly that bad though, is it? it's an extra hour a day
and if you were living there, the travel would have been taken out of it
this one doesn't sound that bad at all!

Amazon got on to me about interviewing for a job. I didnt even apply, they must have my CV from ages ago. Feels pretty good to have someone come after me for a job, even though I dont think I will get it. Amazon are notoriously hard to get a job in.

I've heard the same, warehouse/picking jobs are supposed to be miserable (and horribly paid). Bullshit like giving you a 15 minute break, but requiring you to walk to a break room 5 minutes away (so 10 minutes of your break is walking to/from the break room).

Corporate might be grand, but as stated before, I hate that whole culture. Know some Google and LinkedIn employees as well who are true believers, it's weird.

Its a Software Engineering job in Vancouver. Thats pretty much all I know. Itd be great to have on th eCV if only for a year or two anyway. I have to send on my CV later so Im gonna ask for more info on the job. I have to complete some online test thing first anyway after I send the cv in. So if I get past that ill start giving it real thought. Mate of mine just started for them in London. Just read the email and it might be in Seattle, or maybe Arizona, actually which would be kinda cool

Nightmare to work with over here too. Several mates have joined and since left in the last few years.

Contracting is a good way to make decent cash without the backbreaking, soul-crushing labour.

I heartily endorse it.

Got my permanent contract in the new job today, 3 month probation period done. Had to agree to go on some training course but sure.

Oh and I've started working on a European funded project. The launch party for it is in Finland, they've quarterly meetings in Norway, Sweeden and eh Mayo and a few visits to Brussels.

my new job is 5-10 minutes drive away. you wouldn't believe the difference it makes to your life. leave home at 8.50am, home at 5.10pm. its changes everything! there's no way id go back to getting home at 6.30pm onwards unless i was offered about 20k more. at least then the epic holidays would make it worth it!
