What kind of work?

Not that I love my job, but they're gonna be recruiting ('cause me and 4 others on the team are leaving) if you wanted something boring involving accounting software!

I was at the airport flying out of Singapore alone after a very boozy few days with former boardie Benito. I was queueing at immigration and could hear these Glasgow accents behind me, but could only see Asian people around me.

I thought I was losing it until I realised there was three young Asian lads all speaking English together.

Work in IT although am hoping to change careers. Doing a social studies course at the mo so looking to move into something based on that

as in social work?
was surprised to hear how many points are required in the leaving to get into those courses. you could do worse than getting into the public sector in that section. starting wages that would make you blush

That's it, plus it's always been more interesting to me than IT.

a few of my mates, and in-laws, are social workers. fair play to them, i don't know how they do it. i just couldn't switch off from a job like that.

the threat of violence is always there too, especially for the men. a couple of my mates have been battered, threatened and all sorts. one even got a cafetiere smashed over his head a few years back.

but it is a very rewarding job, though. i get that, because there's no way you'd do it otherwise. the positives often outweigh the negatives.

yeah i suppose you'd never be stuck for stories. it'd never be dull.

i did consider it when i was younger but it was never something i could realistically do. i'm much too empathetic. i don't mean that as a brag either, it's a weakness if anything.

so i bought a large ladder last night. one of those big fancy extending ones. it's a long (boring) story.

anyway, if the shit ever hits the fan job-wise at least i could go out and start a window round now.

i know a few window cleaners and they're fairly miserable bastards but it looks like a handy number to me. unless it rains of course because that means you cant work. and it rains a lot here tbf.

Few window cleaners round here are diversifying into washing solar panels. You should add that to your business plan.
