The jubilation of France winning the penalty right at the end then the immediate horror after looking up and realising they had tapped and run from underneath their own posts!

Saturday's rugby was an absolute nonsense

It was great excitment but it was the furthest thing from test rugby possible. Italy just gave up once they realised they weren't going to win and that let Wales run in a cricket score. This set up the rest of the day because the other two teams had to chase points then.

I went to see the Waratahs v Brumbies in super rugby the other night. Really weird experience. Very different from the Irish match night atmosphere. Interesting style of rugby too, much more open and loose with a lot more use of the backs. I enjoyed it a lot more than the magners league or whatever they call it these days

Yeah, it's almost a different game. It's a mindset thing, the want to outscore the opposition rather than stop the opposition from scoring. It helps that they are nearly guaranteed to have nice dry weather perfect for running the ball.

Matt Williams was saying on second captains on Monday that in Oz the reaction to saturdays games was along the lines of Northern hemisphere teams discover it's possible to run with the ball.

Meh, while Saturday was an unbelievable day of rugby I haven't been too discontent with the game in recent years.

The aussies can have their league/footie if they want to see non stop running rugby.

Can't expect us to steamroll lesser teams, but let's hope for a big total for some confidence

Not sure if I want to see an upset there. That'd be a bit of a head fuck for ireland.

Brilliant tackle from the Japanese full back there. Absolutely levelled him.
