Guardians of the Galaxy

Bloody brilliant! My favourite Marvel adaptation so far and very unlike any of the others. Very very funny as well. I really wasn't expecting all that much from it so was nicely surprised.

Didn't see the after scene credit but after reading about it

Enjoyed Mistaken For Strangers but it felt very staged.

Re Popcorn Time, here's an article about the legality of it.

And while we don't encourage downloading Popcorn Time, users shouldn't worry. The app does download media files to your computer — but only temporarily. Copyright-holders and law enforcement probably wouldn't waste time and effort going after minor private users anyway, Gibson explained.
That's just, y'know, your opinion, man.

And I knew all the twists and stuff already. Empire Strikes Back is probably the best. Wouldn't watch Star Wars or any of the prequels again though.
Oh same. Big oul meh to Star Wars. On my kill list is anyone, real or in media, who is one of those "self-proclaimed nerds", who if you told them you hated Star Wars would be all like "OH MY GOD, YOU HAVE GOT TO LOVE STAR WARS! IT'S LIKE THE COOLEST MOVIE EVER"

Eric Foreman and Jason Segal in How I Met Your Mother types. Scum. Sub-human scum.

In fact that sort of shite seems to be the whole basis for the TV show HIMYM, and therefore why I hate it and everyone in it.

"OH MY GOD, HOW CAN YOU NOT <insert thing>, THAT'S TOTALLY AGAINST <insert rule>. OH MY GOD THAT'S LIKE THE GREATEST THING EVER".

I'm not living my life by your contrived standards and rules you weird little prick, so fuck off out of my sight.

The downloading is fine, it's the uploading that'll be the issue

If you were to get prosecuted for downloading something it would involve recovering lost revenues from you not buying a product. So many people stream or download illegally these days it's unlikely to be an issue.

If you were to get prosecuted for uploading something, which is baked into how torrents work, you could get prosecuted for the loss of revenue that resulted from every single person using that torrent. Again, not likely but a) you'd be liable to pay out a shitload in damages and b) they're more likely to go after uploaders as it's not your typical internet user accidentally streaming a copyright protected YouTube video.

Yeah I guess I knew all that. Just how does it tie in to what Pete's saying about using popcorn time?

I know that when you're 'seeding' something that's basically uploading something, so don't do that. Is he saying that by using popcorn time you're helping to seed/upload it, therefore it's risky?

Or is he just being a party pooper?

Yeah, anything torrent based involves seeding. That's how the protocol works. Realistically you're upload would be a tiny fragment compared to the big torrent clients as it only does it at a low rate while you're downloading the stream.

Technically it's still file sharing.

But sure nobody is ever going to get done for this. Stream away.

Great cast, strange movie. Not a horror, drama or even black comedy. Weird watch - entertaining but weird.

Would find it hard to recommend if it wasn't for the cast. 2.5 :star: / 5 :star:

I liked American Hustle - much much more than TWOWS, tho everyone seemed to fawn over that more. Di Caprio is no Bale.

Anyways, saw Guardians Of The Galaxy last night and I know I like comic books so it should be of no surprise that I obviously would like this film- but my goodness - It blows everything else Marvel has done (and the way they do it) out of the water. It's like a cross of The Goonies / Romancing The Stone / Big Trouble In Little China & Indiana Jones, by that I mean it's a funny action film you'd be used to seeing in the 80's. Don't think there was a bad performance in the 5 of them and it was funny, like bellylaughing, all-the-audience-at-the-same-time funny.
Pelvic saucery & Jackson Pollack brought the lols
Best film of the summer I've seen by far, right up there with the best of Marvel too. Loved the soundtrack as well.

Howard The Duck? Seriously???
