I wouldn't be much of a fan, but they were pretty fuckin immense. They were always gonna lose half the crowd, but musically, visually, sound wise, they were immaculate. I just sat in the seats enthralled by it.

I thought it made very little sense to have them on the main stage.

They wouldn't have had as much impact anywhere else. Perfect main stage performance. Sure not pop or crowd pleasing, but for them and their fans, perfect.

I saw Foals back in May. It was the 1st time I'd seen an excited Canadian crowd. Great show

Foals are brilliant

Also thought Portishead nailed it. Was expecting them to be a bit lost on the main stage but they were fucking rocking

First time i seen them i thought they were shit, but they were great this time. There was a bit too much instrumental parts though. Bombay Bicycle Club were better i thought. Came on, rocked through their tunes, no bullshit

Machine Gun and Wandering Star were my highlights. Suppose they were always going to lose some of the crowd but I thought they were absolutely brilliant. Looked up some of their setlists there, and it turns out they haven't changed it in years which is a bit crap.

I'm not a big fan of Foals but thought they were good. Big festival sound. After a while I got awfully bored though, just seemed like the same song over and over again.

Did anyone see Wolf Alice btw? Really enjoyed them too, hopefully they get an album together soon.

i was blown away by portishead at glastonbury last year and it would have been a bigger stage/crowd they were playing to

Portishead were incredible. Absolute bliss start to finish, didn't think being on the main stage detracted from the gig one bit.
Can only imagine that anyone they lost in the crowd just weren't fans.

yeah I'm surprised I haven't seen them mentioned more often.

their EP is great.

i had ample opportunities to see them this year but squandered every single one.

I love Wolf Alice but they had the worst clash of the weekend with Jungle and ST Vincent. I watched most of SV, went to Jungle for 1 song and landed in WA just as they were walking off stage

They announced a show in Manc last week. Can't remember the date, October sometime.

Was tempted to see St Vincent instead, but I'd seen her twice before anyway. New album is still probably album of the year for me. Haven't checked out Royal Blood's one yet though.

Some of their stuff was pretty cheesy, but this was one of my highlights, this camera I was using had a zoom lens so I liked when it zoomed out you could see the audience go bananas.
