The Book Thread
Sweet.
Will definitely give the Clowes one a look.
Getting the Burns title would be a bit sneaky and for myself really.
Will flick through Amsterdam and judge it by the pictures

Some comics
The Guards - Shane Ormond & Kevin Keane
Solid supernatural crime detective story, an intriguing first entry in what I hope will be a great series. Published by Northpress Comics in Cork, nice artwork and lettering, will be following their output.
The Envelope Manufacturer - Chris Oliveros
Drawn & Quarterly head Chris Oliveros' first book, about the breakdown of a small order envelope manufacturer. Really well paced and quite dizzying, gets the disorientation of downfall across really well. Hope he makes more books.

Started reading ebooks on an iPad recently, kinda gotten me back on track with reading. Haven't been craving novels, mostly reading humourous stuff.
Steve Coogan - Easily Distracted
Good insight into the guy and his insecurities, he doesn't go into the drug and booze recollections too much but he doesn't define himself by them. It's a bit scattershot, as the title suggests, worth a read if you're a fan.
Rob Delaney - Mother. Wife. Sister. Human. Warrior. Falcon. Yardstick. Turban. Cabbage.
Read this in one sitting, it's really funny, proper chuckles. Drinking, depression, bedwetting, it has it all.
David Sedaris - Me Talk Pretty One Day & When You Are Engulfed in Flames
Collections of stories, mostly autobiographical. Got into Sedaris through This American Life, finally getting around to the books. Very witty and enjoyable.
Some audiobooks
Alan Partridge - Nomad
It's no 'I, Partridge' but it's still funny.
Jon Ronson - The Psychopath Test
Well put together, an exploration of psychopathy and the mental health industry. Very entertaining.

Started No is Not Enough by Naomi Klein, which is really interesting so far.
Have her previous one This Changes Everything ready to go after that.

Ordered these off the Amazon machine last night. Have become acutely aware of myself and literally everyone else tinkering with their phone non-stop, so making an effort to put it down and read more. Actually learn something instead of the non-stop stream of social media fluff and 200 word articles.

Just finished prob my 15th Discworld novel. only another 20/30 to go. Sucks that theres no more being made, really would read about these characters and the world forever.

read the 5th before the 4th, they happen concurrently but the 4th is boring as fuckBadTurtle wrote:Midway through the third GOT book at the moment. Addictive as hell.
