JP Donleavy died this week. Won't lie I thought he was long dead.

Read the obituaries in the irish times and the guardian. Seemed an awful person!

fuck me it's good. There is three volumes of six issues each. It's a bit out there, there is magic in the world and it can be channeled through music, but don't worry about that, there's not too much of it to bog down the rest of the stories (ala Grant Morrison in The Invisibles which i'm making my way through at the moment). If you can get the single issues as the glossaries at the back are cracking. lots of bits about early 90's music. anyway go get it :thumbs:

and if you like that go get The Wicked + The Divine by the same people. in face, go get TW+TD any way.

I like the sound of that book.

Haven't been keeping an eye on comics lately, gonna have a nose on amazon now.

i didn't realise they made Mr Mercedes into a tv show with brendan gleeson

i did hear that it's a bit too run of the mill Patterson crime book but i'll have to see it out

Started the Barrytown trilogy (The COmmitements, The Snapper and the Van) The Commitments is first, only about 140 pages. hilarious already and just started this morning
