I don't think there will be any major advantage in winning your group this year

If Chelsea and Liverpool finish second then 3/5 teams other english clubs could face are Real, Juve and Bayern. If Liverpool finish 1st then you can throw Sevilla in there

English teams look much stronger across the board this year though.
They've closed that gap massively from the last few years.

I went with the Napoli v Man City game.

It was actually pretty class to watch, really enjoyed it. Man City look like they might be getting things right

ah lets see if they beat anyone in the knockout stages, after a hectic christmas schedule

it's good to see that, in a World Cup year, the english press aren't overhyping the fact that Spurs had 5 english lads in the first 11 last night.

Yeah heard done by there, but it doesn't come close to that heartache. Still time to do something about it

I felt we got the rub of the green big time after the Henry incident from referees, especially in the playoffs. Everything went our way from a decisions perspective on the next qualifying playoffs.

That incident will be a topic before the next game. Ref may even the score

Actually a fair point. There were decisions even last night after that penalty that were blatantly attempts to try and even things up. I just have no idea why he gave a penalty. Not even the Swiss players appealed for one.

Evra banned for 7 months, contract with Marseille terminated. Anyone know what was said by the supporter?

The wife of Northern Ireland’s Corry Evans has sent some vile tweets about the referee who awarded a penalty against her husband.

‘I think you need to demote a few of your officials after tonight’s shocking big decisions,’ Evans tweeted. ‘Embarrassing’.

‘Romanian gypsy c***. And to think Northern Ireland has probably homed one of his smelly relatives. Ungrateful twat. Anyway, onwards and upwards.’

away goal would have been nice, but 0-0 is really what we went for and we were lucky not to concede.
fantastic job not to pick up any bookings and now we have a full squad for the 2nd leg

i just hope we don't get too jittery and fear the away goal

Has everyone seen these rumours about Liam Miller on Twitter? The story seems to be gathering a bit more traction this evening. :(

So we went out cos of that non penalty. Annoying.

Thought RoI have not much to worry about from Denmark. Should take it to them on Tuesday and could win by a couple

Has been diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. That type is a particular bastard as it's usually diagnosed quite late. He's still only 36. Has a few young kids too. Seems like a few papers are running with the story this morning.
