I've been very meh about Pogba signing all summer, but now he's there I have to admit I'm a little bit excited (fee aside). Bar a bit of depth in central defence (which might not be required depending on how well Bailly adapts) and rb, we're well stocked.

Main problem I think is going to be shoehorning Rooney into the team at the expense of Pogba and Mhktarian.

Sell him for £2m, buy him back for £105m 3 years later. Makes the club look like a fucking laughing stock.
More rope for Woodward.

Much as it's a ridiculous situation, United can afford it so who gives a shit? He's only 22 and about as marketable as they come too.

Serious window for United tbf.

Pogba left before Woodward's time. If you want to get annoyed at anyone, do it with Fergie for letting him go in the first place. The money is immaterial as the club can afford it. He's hugely marketable, and one of Adidas' biggest stars as evidenced by the ad they had him make with Stormzy in a Utd jersey.

£100m today is the same as spending £31m on Veron 15 years ago. We've always spent way more than other clubs because we could afford to.

this kind of sums up my thinking on the whole thing also

biggy... i don't think it reflects bad on woodward at all nor does it make utd a laughing stock... pogba wanted to play more football back in the day and fergie didn't play him for whatever reason... he was a bit young but we had a shit midfield and he deserved a chance (if i remember we had cleverly, gibson, obertan, hargreaves, nani, fletcher and the amazing anderson around then).. that was down to fergie

if he had hung around and was part of the moyes/ van gaal era he would be gone by now anyway to a big european club

he was farmed out, got a shitload of experience and returns as a proper player... utd have the money and he will be worth a fortune in merch, i'm happy enough with the overall scenario

Pogba said he decided to leave when Fergie started Rafael and Park in centre midfield against Blackburn on New Years Eve. You could hardly blame him like. I tihnk we lost or drew that match thanks to a Grant Hanley goal

Looks like Stones is gone to City. He's in the squad list they submitted to Uefa.

Wild guesses here but...

City
Arsenal
United
Chelsea

Spurs
Leicester
Liverpool

Think Bournemouth to go down and I think Watford will get dragged into the battle too, though they may hang on.

£150m City have spent on centre halves in the last 3 summers. They must be praying this one is a success

Wonder will Otemendi or Mangala leave. I'd take the former.

I read yesterday that Mangala and Bony are both going.

The queue should be out the door for Bony. He'll probably end up in China.

In the screenshots of the City CL squad, with Stones included, Kompany and Mangala were included and Denayer was. I'm assuming Kompany was just missing for the time being due to injury

yeah any team in the league would be able to afford him surely. Proven scorer. Arsenal should be in for him actually

Massive wages though does he? I'd take him because all the better options seem to be more than Wenger is willing to spend.

Lamela turns 25 during the season, don't think he'll qualify for YPOTY
