first single i ever bought was on vinyl.

they'd run out of tapes in the local music shop because it was quite a big hit at the time.

My older brother provided me with all the quality music I needed from the ages of 6 to, I think 11. Then by the time I'd gotten my own music player (a discman), the first albums I bought of my own choice and with my own money were:

Image

FIFA 2000 - The Album, which, apart from Robbie Williams, also had Placebo, Massive Attack, Feeder, Morcheeba and some other decent tunes;

and

Image

Cypress Hill - Skull & Bones, which, apart from Rock/Rap Superstar, was mostly shite. But of course I loved it at the time, especially the Rock side of it. And the first 4 tracks on it are still crackers. This purchase has also meant that Cypress Hill have remained close to my heart to this day. I believe I own more physical Cypress Hill CD's than any other artist.

On the other hand, the last CD's I bought were:

Kasabian - Kasabian

and, quite beautifully:

You haven't bought a CD in nearly 10 years? That's impressive.
