Hi All,
For our 6th picnic, myself and 3 friends are taking a well earned rest from camping and have checked into some fancy lodgings in Kildare village...with real beds and everything.
We are wondering if anyone has any ideas about how we can get to/from site - taxi, minibus, scheduled bus?
We would hope to get onto site in the afternoon and leave about 3am.
Does anyone know of scheduled minibuses?
Can we just get a taxi at the end of the night? As we've always camped, we don't know if there are taxis waiting outsite that late at night?
Any help would be appreciated,
Cheers
Katie

Very fancy

would you not have been closer staying in stradbally or portlaoise? I'm not sure but kildare isnt about a half an hour away?

id say you would want to get the number of a local taxi firm when you arrive and stick with them for the weekend. Sometimes there are taxis outside but you wouldnt know

Hi Katie,

There are usually organised buses that will stop in Kildare as far as I know. A taxi would be cheap between a group I guess but there will no doubt be shuttle buses to and from the festival.

Board member Electricnose is usually good at answering transport questions, he recently organised transport to the Body and Soul festival.

Try sending him a private message, he should have some info.

Enjoy Electric Picnic

Thanks for the quick responses everyone.
I will send Electricnose a private message, thanks for the advice Frank.
Mojo, yes we would've loved to have stayed closer but everything was booked out back in March so we took what we could :)

I stayed in a hotel in Dublin one year of Oxegen. Just hopped on the bus at the end of the night that dropped me to Parnell Square and was in the hotel by 2 or so, slept til about 10 and got the bus back out.

But that was Oxegen and it's murder/rape/mud vibe

I won't lie. I would never have suggested such an idea myself, but I was only too delighted to go along with it

jesus the monday morning at oxegen was so depressing

you'd be dying, shivering with cold and there would be massive wankers driving around on quads and roaring at you to get the fuck out

and you'd glimpse tents on fire in the background
