Was listening to some Alternative Hits 2005 playlist driving into work this morning and the last song was Be Yourself by Audioslave. Spooky.

Speculates that in the Telegraph article too. Doesn't say cause of death but "basic things were observed at the scene".
Heartbreaking if true.

It is that. We've reached the age where "our" generation of musicians and rock stars are going too. Someone like Chris Cornell, it's nice to know they're out there doing their thing. And then they're not, suddenly.
It's really sad.

I think what makes this one a bit sadder is just the fact he played a show then tweeted, all seemingly perfectly fine and normal then within hours had committed suicide. It's rare that you get to see how "normal" someone can act right up to the moment.Dick Jones wrote:It is that. We've reached the age where "our" generation of musicians and rock stars are going too. Does he not have a legitimate sexual assault case to answer though? I know Phier posted links before as to why the claims might be a bit dubious but is that not the same with any court case.Eucrid wrote:Holy shit. Thats great. Won't stop uninformed idiots calling him a "rapist" though.Phierstarter wrote:Wowsers, Sweden have dropped their case against Assange.

There were two cases against him (the women got together, made a complaint, tried to back out, but the prosecutor kept the ball rolling). For one of them they eventually agreed to getting his testimony through a proxy that interviewed him, and for this last remaining case, they eventually gave up renewing the arrest warrant.
It's also a Swedish law that wouldn't count as rape in most places. It's about not wearing a condom. TBf he's said he'll go and allow them to bring him to court if they can guarantee he wont be handed over to the yanks. Fair enough if the concerns of the Swedish gov are really for the women.
