I have a sony vaio for my work one and its pretty crap

battery wont charge despite getting a new battery so it has to run off the mains.

screen had to be replaced at one stage aswell

tbh its a few years old now but it was a high spec one at the time

meh

how long have you had it?

mine was above mid range when i got it, it was great for a year or two and then everything started going wrong... only picking up wireless sometimes, internet crashing, battery is woeful and some vaio thing has now stopped working that keeps crashing stuff

About 18 months now. The battery doesn't have the best life in the world and never has but I was well aware of that when I bought it and really I think you'd struggle to get much battery life out any lap top running with these specs.

Yeah, they don't build them like that anymore. They're the laptop equivilant of the Nokia 3310. The battery is goosed on it though. 15mins if I'm lucky.

Remember that Macbook that I was talking about earlier? Its been sitting here broke for 1.5 years because Apple told me they wouldnt fix it and the only 2 apple endorsed repair shops in Ireland were quoting me 7/800 quid. Left it down in some local guys shop he runs out of the back of a barbers a few days ago, and he rang me earlier. Fixed, 20 quid. Boom!

With my previous Macbook and my new pro any time I've had a problem the shop has sorted it. With the Macbook there was a known issue with the HD and even though it was out of warranty they replaced it for free.

With the pro some cable connecting the HD broke and they replaced it for free.

There's a guy in Belfast who was there before the Apple Shop and he's very good at fixing stuff and if I was out of warranty I'd use him.

Burro, that Toshiba's spec isn't all that great tbh. It's only a Pentium processor which will result in the 8g of memory being irelavant. Anyway most laptops run perfectly on 4g. 6g if your into your gaming. The processor is more important. Look for at least an Intel i3 or AMD A6 which would be the AMD equivilant. Toshiba's are a generally good make though. There's a great website to buy laptops off called 'Save on laptops'.

Yeah, the noise of the fans are ridiculous. You'd swear the thing is going to blow up sometimes with the noise coming off it.

i would too.. like.. the way you want a convertable or a motorbike for when its sunny out.. and drive to work in the normal car

like if you were going anywhere .. bring the mac

and curse at it silently about being a piece of awkward sh*t.. as people look at you with jealous eyes
