it was on junk mail that came in the door this morning from the local euronics shop

ye seem to have one in navan too... http://www.euronics.ie/stores/stores.html

no mention of the specials on the website though

i actually picked that up this morning on my way out and thought about putting up one of those no junk mail signs, cos ive a radiator top full of those brochures! ha!
i was going to get this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-Satelli ... 397&sr=1-4

ive had my toshiba since 2006 id say, and ive never had a bit of bother with it at all. until now. the screen is broken from being kicked off the bed too many times. but thats it. its a brick of a machine.
i heart toshiba.

Jesus, hardly. Any sort of tech ability and your laptop should be fine for longer than that. Especially if you're throwing big money at it. My one is still going now and I have it 8 years.

I have a Vaio and its been brilliant since I got.

Thing is whether you have a Vaio or a Dell or a Toshiba or whatever alot changes in terms of build quality as you go up the price brackets.

Depends what you're using it for. If you're doing alot of video, graphic, audio, etc you're still going to have to keep up with processing requirements of the new gens of software..

Fair enough, but most people aren't in that category.

how long have you had it?

mine was above mid range when i got it, it was great for a year or two and then everything started going wrong... only picking up wireless sometimes, internet crashing, battery is woeful and some vaio thing has now stopped working that keeps crashing stuff
