I think most phones have a 2 year warranty. The last couple I've had have anyway.

most phones have litmus paper in them these days to show immediately whether or not there's been water damage to them, so it's unlikely trying to fob them off will work

I was just about to say this
it's impossible to get away with water damaged phones now

This is true.

Also I like my Samsung fine. Had a look at the s3 the other day and it's only bleedin massive. Too big for pockets comfortably. I'll be switching back when the new iPhone comes out.

You get fairly used to the size of the phones though. I have an SII as well and whenever I use an iphone for anything they feel too small.

Yeah there is a spot where you just make the jump to a tablet. If it's too big to carry it stops being useful as a "mobile" phone. Although who recently brought out something halfway between a phone and a tablet. I thought that was a great idea for the female market. Ideal for a handbag.

I had an uncle living there for a while. Apparently they all keep slaves. Well, not slaves exactly but not far off. Basically domestic workers that every household has. Overseas workers. But they can only get one day a week off and have to live in. The apartments are built with one tiny room with no windows for the domestic help. And there is some rules about meeting on the street.... I dunno, it was at a family lunch and I wasn't picking up all the details but yeah, sounded a lot like slavery.

we were talking to a local who wasnt a muslim, and the sh*t he was telling us was unreal. things have gotten very old school there, with the younger people being more strictly religious than previous generations. the women in full jihabs, with only eyes showing, very submissive to their husbands. a quota of college places, school places, government jobs, police etc has to be filled by muslims over other religions... all sounded mental. i wasnt really comfortable there to be honest. the wealth divide was horrendously blatant.

Yeah this is it. A client of mine is a professor there and was told for hiring people, like that, here's the Muslims choose from them first and then you can move on to the non Muslims. There's a lot of that all over the Middle East. An Uncle in Law runs oil rig in the Gulf and he was saying 51% of his workers must be Saudi. The remaining 49% actually do the work.
