Ah I don't know. City deserve the league I think. And the likes of spurs and newcastle are where they are on merits. Newcastle have put a very good team together, I don't know how they've done it unchallenged from some bigger clubs on the like of cabaye etc but hats off to them.

If new teams emerging, to upset the established big 4 is a farce, or not a good thing, then football is fucked. Are the likes of bilbao or montpellier udinese a farce?

well "farcical" might imply that there was no merit to be had from watching the season unfold but it really feels like such a bizarre season in hindsight

united having such an average squad yet accumulating such a high points tally
city almost sabotaging their entire season with the tevez and balotelli altercations
arsenal flip flopping from being unbelievably poor to actually being somewhat resilient throughout the entire year
spurs falling over the finish line with a shocking run of results
newcastle have been great to watch, cannot complain one bit, but even they found themselves on the wrong side of a few humiliating results this season
a chelsea side who are about to have their worst premiership season under abramovic yet still find themselves with a very good shot of winning the CL

i'm just finding it hard to come to any clear conclusions as the season finishes up

tonight game just seemed to sum up the oddness of the season given chelseas dominance at the weekend

Any of you familiar with the concept of the NFL Red Zone channel?

Basically, it's a channel in America that flicks to coverage of a game whenever a team is threatening to score, it's really amazing viewing on the last day of the regular season, and most normal weeks too

They should really allow Sky to do a similar service on the final day

Or at least show one live game, and have the others on the red button. It'd be absolutely class

Or have Sky do an extra package you could buy on the final day for £10 or something, the way you're able to pay week by week on nfl.com.

I understand footy is a bit more fluid than an NFL game, so doesn't automatically lend itself to Red Zone, but it's something they should def look at

It'll never be as exciting a title run in as Irish League 1994!

Glad to see the troglodytes from the Six counties made McClean delete his twitter

Everything McClean said about the atmosphere being nakedly hostile for catholics at N.I games is completely true

They're going to keep losing players to Ireland until some big changes are made, changes which would be completely unpalatable to 99% of fans (anthem, union jack etc)

i'm guessing they don't do either cause of the right issues/cost, sports saturday is the alternative

and it's not as if they're oblivious to the red zone concept, they do it every week for NFL do they not?

yea it's a dedicated channel you can subscribe to

Every time a team gets in the "Red Zone" the action switches to that game

Obviously they'd prefer he played for Norn Iron, where they of course could then drive him out by issuing death threats once more

yea it costs extra for Red Zone

The FA would never allow it. The last thing they want is people being able to see the main points of every game on TV at once because it'd mean there'd be no one at the likes of Blackburn, Wigan, etc Same reason they aren't allowed to broadcast any 3 o'clock Saturday matches in the UK.

highlights packages probably wouldn't be worth as much either

but it'd be all over the place if they switched every time there was a cross into the box

i was sure when Ramires had scored that he'd actually scored an own goal

Which would have put his league stats at: Goals -1, Assists 0

I was so happy when he stepped up that he could put the cunting thing to rest, but also got the lols when he fucked up
