This totally doesnt deserve its own thread but i want people to see it and ill delete it later

My dads birthday is coming up and his mates in work have been going on about how great the wire is but im not sure its his cup of tea, he likes things like CSI, Criminal Minds and Stargate ( :roll: ) so Im not sure, advice from people who like the wire?

Its a great show but its much more realistic than those. So therefore much more language, sex, violence etc. It'd be more comparable with things like goodfellas in some ways

yes to both of these, but Haido loves the wire and hates CSI, Criminal Minds etc which made me question if my dad would like it.

yeah that would put me off because i dont think he'd like that, in CSI they never really show the people getting killed just the aftermath and my dad gives out when me and my sister curse....

HBO shows are a bit more hard hitting. i've still yet to get the chance to get round to the wire but i can imagine the language and violence would be along similar lines to Oz, and whether a parent would enjoy all the drug related stuff too, i'd doubt my own dad would like it
