Re: The Footie Thread 2014/15

It's a sink or swim start for Rodgers and Liverpool. If they manage to come out of that run with credit it would set them up for the season. If things go bad then Rodgers could be gone by Christmas.

Re: TV Show Discussion Thread

GOT jon snow isn't dead.....read a blind item the other day that basically said as much I think he's dead alright. I just dont think he'll stay dead. Thought last nights episode was a bit hectic. It's a pity they didn't stretch some of it out over the season instead of cramming it into the final ep...

Re: What's on your mind?

A lot of people would vote against repealing the 8th to the extent that I really can't see a vote on it succeeding in the next 10 years. The likes of the IONA institute will paint a picture of forced abortions of all babies if it should be repealed.

Re: What's on your mind?

I think the grandeur and setting of a church wedding can be lovely. It's the religious part and formality that can be a pain in the balls.

Re: What's on your mind?

Weddings are grand, it's when you have 10 of them a year that it's a pain in the bollix. One every couple of years is the right amount for a wedding.

Re: TV Show Discussion Thread

GoT - agree with everyone saying They should have edited the ep differently, would have been way better to have the battle at the stadium in the middle and Stannis at the end. Dani flying off at the end was a bit Never Ending Story wasn't it. Can someone explain to me why that happened with Stannis...

Re: TV Show Discussion Thread

RE The Unsullied: I think its just lazy writing that they are so shit. At the start they were badass machines. Now the story calls for the queen to be in danger so they are useless all of a sudden. They will be back to being badass when the story calls for it Yeah, it's one of the problems the tv s...

Re: TV Show Discussion Thread

GOT Dorne was it's usual shit self, what was the point in seeing the sandsnakes playing slaps? trying to make us like the hot girl. (We already like her, she's hot!) I guess it is supposed to give us some feeling for the sandsnakes because they'll be involved down the line but they've made a bollix...

Re: TV Show Discussion Thread

GOT Thought last nights episode was poorly done to be honest. 1. The Shereen thing just wasn't believable to me. Stannis went from telling Mellisandre to fuck off to the wall for even suggesting it to torching his only child in a couple of episodes. There was no build up to highlight the desperation...

Re: What's on your mind?

SHe was 17 weeks I think. At that stage the baby isn't viable outside the womb so if the mothes life is at risk the baby is doomed anyway so I think an abortion is justified in that case.

Re: What's on your mind?

abortion is a difficult one. Very early stage abortions or medical reasons in mother or baby are acceptable to me. I just have an issue with the term of pregnancy. Even after 8 or 10 weeks the fetus has formed limbs etc. I personally would find it difficult to abort something with hands and feet. A...

Re: What's on your mind?

the badges and the processions through the streets of dublin etc. Was this a thing? People wearing Panti badges? Didn't see that. There were Team Panti t-shirts during the defamation fiasco. Also, Ronan Mullen on RTE on Sat morning called him "Mister Panti". Which is hilarious in itself, but also k...

Re: What's on your mind?

I felt the same when I saw the headline. I've always found Mulally to be a bit of a dose. She's annoyingly holier than thou and preachy a lot of the time. Her article where she came out about the cancer was brilliant though.

Re: The Footie Thread 2014/15

Oh I agree, I'd much prefer the stability of giving him more time. It's the fear that after the run in he's lost the dressing room. If that's happened then it's game over. I don't know if that's the case or not though.

Re: The Footie Thread 2014/15

I think it depends on the dressing room. There has been a worrying tail off for the last 8 or so games, when they were still in with a fight for 4th and the FA Cup, which would make you wonder. A lot of gutless performance where there was no fight in the team. That's when you start to worry. I'd hav...

Re: The Footie Thread 2014/15

I'd be surprised if Rogers survives this season. The last few games have looked like a man who has lost his dressing room. It's the last thing Liverpool need really. Some stability is vital and it's just going to be another summer of flux.

Re: What's on your mind?

Don't be blaming culchies. Canvassers were reporting that the most likely to vote No were well off Dubs, with areas like Blackrock and Glasnevin being very against it. It's not so much a culchie thing as a generatational thing. Older voters are more likely to vote No and there are more older voters...
