Re: Film Discussion Thread *NO SPOILERS*

I'll immediately resent any film that blatantly assumes I want a sequel / larger universe Is that not pretty much every Pixar, Disney or any summer block buster then. I'm pretty sure the money men are looking at the potential for a sequel from the very beginning If they did, it's incredibly subtle....

Re: GOT Thread

The attitude she threw at Sansa was completely unjustified. She fucked off for years and didn't give her sister any credit for surviving anywhere she was sent. At least Sansa matured as a person. Nah she was spot on. And Sansa is regressing into her spoilt season one self since she got back to Wint...

Re: GOT Thread

For a lethal assassin and master of disguise, Arya sure got played by Littlefinger though didnt' she. What was on the note she read? I could make out something about Sansa and Joffrey. Arya is a little shit and she's not smart enough to outwit Littlefinger. The attitude she threw at Sansa was compl...

Re: Film Discussion Thread *NO SPOILERS*

Only saw Casablanca for the first time a couple of years ago, went to see it in the IFI. Absolutely amazing and such a treat to see something like that for the first time in cinema. FACT FANS (in the form of clickbaity headline): This film is a remake of Casablanca and people are freaking out... ht...

Re: GOT Thread

I sort of want Bronn and Davos to get happy endings - Bronn to have his castle and Davos to have some sort of peace as a father figure / Hand of the King or something Never got all the love for Bronn as a character. There's very little to him. And i've always found it hard to buy into the notion of...

Re: GOT Thread

It's probably inevitable because you can't just have the dragons being shot at

I think I was the only one rooting for Bronn to kill Drogon last night

Re: GOT Thread

I also have a theory that one of the dragons is going to get killed and/or injured and the White Walkers are going to turn it and then there will be a dragon battle

Nah, because that would leave everything unresolved. I think the point is that he needs to remove the Lannister armour or he'll drown under the weight of it. It's a heavily symbolic thing they're going for

Re: GOT Thread

The Winds of Winter (6.10) for me. Fuck I forgot that. That was amazing too. I'm only really interested in the North and the White Walkers. Everything else can be cut into minute slices and I wouldn't be too annoyed I'm expecting a 'big death' soon because people seem to be surviving too much recen...

Re: GOT Thread

The end was but that 'Stand and face the horses' bit and all the claustrophobic battle scenes before the shitty crush bit were pretty epic

Re: GOT Thread

There is a real disparity in the acting talent on the show. Some brilliant actors and some absolute duds. Emilia Clarke for instance is woeful. She's going to get fuck all good work after this show. Emilia Clarke is incapable of subtlety. Bran is also killing me. STOP BEING A FUCKING CREEP AND DO S...

Re: TV Show Discussion Thread

One thought I had after the first episode was how close Dragonstone is to Kings Landing. It's basically in Blackwater Bay, which Kings Landing is at the end of I found it pretty ridiculous that Dany arrived at Dragonstone with a massive fleet and then Euro rolled into Kings Landing with his fleet (...

"It's a new one" made me cringe and want to rip my skin off

All the other cameos - even Gary Lightbody who was also singing - were handled with subtlety

Re: Film Discussion Thread *NO SPOILERS*

Dunkirk I liked it but it was definitely missing something but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe the lack of dialogue sort of made it hard to get a sense of characters to relate to / empathise / sympathise with? The ones I cared about had the most dialogue anyway so maybe it was a subconscious thin...

Re: What's on your mind?

I also look forward to english people who have only today found out who the DUP are today becoming experts in NI politics and relaying their opinions to me in the coming weeks. The attitude of anyone outside NI trying to talk about NI on TV or in think pieces really pisses me off. They almost alway...
